The real question, unrelated to this choice, which was a forgone conclusion; is...

Just what is the hierarchy of decision criteria for Senators? Or any other elective position for that matter?

Considering that white men compromise the overwhelming majority in Congress, far more over-represented than their numbers in the population warrants, that's a stupid comparison.

Minnesota will now have two women Senators.

So happy to see another woman in the Senate. I believe we are in the dawning of the the era of women. It's been a long time coming.
I would love to see a lot more women in the halls of Congress. I think it would change the direction of the country in a much more humanitarian way. We might even get back on the road to becoming the nation that the world used to think we were.
