You failed to notice the huge flip in the Virginia House of Delegates. I believe the dems gained 17 historically Republican seats. THAT was the real story.

Exactly the term I was going to use: a pendulum.

We must recall, the Democrats had a 1000 seats to lose in the first place. In four years, we may be reading that the Republicans have lost 1000 seats. It is the nature of things.

Oh NO! I'm shocked! Shocked I say that a Trumpie's defense of 'The Donald' would be Obama. I woulda thought that'd die down after the first 500,000 times or so but I guess there's still no other defense for Trump's utter failure to fulfill his campaign promises like immediately repealing the ACA with something far better, eh?

Here’s a quote from Dave Wasserman of Cook Political Report that succinctly states what happened last night in Alabama.

Quote:
No doubt about it: Major, metro Alabama and the Black Belt came through for Jones. Voters in rural white counties didn’t move much towards Jones, but they utterly failed to turn out for Moore.

Of course I do. Do you understand that for approximately 148 years, the Virginia General Assembly and *most* of Virginia has been staunchly red/republican like you cannot imagine. Certainly, "purple" northern VA pulls the state mightily toward democrats since Bush #2. But, it's bee a very long while since state politics got even close to what they did this past November. That was a very, very strong message.

You understand the premise of this thread is 1000 seats at all levels all around the country, not Trump, yes?

You don't get to write off a whole slew of take overs in the VA legislature and say "oh, well Trump didn't win that state" as if that has anything to do with the claim that was made in the first place.
