None of us should relish this environment of straight-up, brazen extortion. All one has to do is say that the consensual sex he/she had was non-consensual and not a single person on this planet can prove otherwise. Ironically, I happen to think this #metoo junk has backfired magnificently. What was unquestionably a tact taken by the left to aim for Donald Trump has opened up a can of worms for Democrats and liberals.
What's the sexual misconduct tally up to now? Something like 200 liberals to 10 conservatives. Liberals have suffered massively. Some of it justified. Some of it not.
Let this be a lesson. Not every idea is a good idea. Not every outrage is worth being vocal about.
I don't think anyone wants to see innocent people accused of anything. The more that comes out about Smiley though, doesn't make him sound too "innocent".
Definitely don't agree with the last part. Positive change for anything in society won't come without controversy. If every outrage wasn't worth being vocal about, we wouldn't even be a country.

I watched the Tavis Smiley interview on Good Morning today. He spoke of the guilty by accusation climate in his meeting. Which they only consented to by threat of lawsuit. However in 3 hours of meeting he was not able to find any information. We need new laws to protect the falsely accused.
he said the same thing on fox this evening when he was interviewed by tucker carlson. and i agree that this has gone way too far. he is being lambasted for reasons unknown by people unknown. sorry but anonymous accusations are rubbish, and should be ignored. if these people want to lambast someone, then step up and make the accusations in the open so people know who is accusing them and of what so they can either defend themselves, or apologize for their actions.

Secondly, it most certainly was weaponized and now we're seeing the grenade blast results play out.
Third, what is disgusting is what is being done to people who are INNOCENT until such a time as they are found guilty by either a judge or a jury of their peers AND had the legal right to face their accusers.

What's disgusting is people using their power and MOB POWER to bastardize the legal system,subverting the very basis of the rules we all live under in this country and totally destroy people without any shred of justice.
The only small shred of good that's come from this is some of those that have been self appointed deciders of morality and good, sitting in judgement of others like some kind of king for YEARS have been caught up in this mess and hoisted on their own petards.

I have a friend that was brutally raped and went through a trial. It took 2 years to come to trial. The rapist was not convicted. All kinds of things came up that were interesting, in some cases, women will actually cause harm to themselves in ways to make it look like a sexual assault/rape took place (being a woman, I just can't imagine doing something like that to myself ), so the desperation of someone trying to make someone pay or someone getting paid to alledge something seems to have no limits. The friend has filed a civil case, and the rapist has filed a civil case basically on defamation of character I believe. This should be interesting.

When you're first sentence is so far off base, the rest isn't going to be in the same ballpark.

Nope. This is EXACTLY the problem with sleeping with multiple underlings, the situation inherently blurs lines. This is why every management training course or sexual harassment training tells you NOT to do this.
Once that practice starts, there is no way to know if subordinates felt comfortable turning him down, or felt they had to do that to get promoted, or to keep their jobs, or to not be blackballed in the industry. He's the boss, the "talent", the one with the industry name and connections. The power imbalance is too great.
You might be able to do it once and argue it was just workplace dating. But once it becomes a habit you set yourself up for problems. Sorry, its been this way too long for this numbnut not to know better.
