We needed Trump to wake people up to what a Fascist regime would look like here in the US. We needed him to destroy the apathy so many voters have felt for a generation. People are now engaged like never before and in 2018 we'll begin the process of dismantling not only Trump but the GOP itself.

Not necessarily. WW1 was inevitable. If Princip didn't start it something else would have sparked it off.
I think not. Romney would have easily won over traditional Republican voters with an improving economy, plenty of jobs, and professional conduct. Hillary would be as repulsive as ever, encouraging minorities to stay home instead of making the effort to vote for a loser.
The assumption is that we would have an "improving economy" under Romney. I'm not so sure.
And if Perot hadn't siphoned votes from GHW Bush in 1992 Bill Clinton would never have been elected so there would be no discussion of Hilary becoming President.
Wrong. The voters had already made their minds up about GHW Bush. He was mired in the 30s during the 1992 campaign whether it was a 2 man race or 3 man race.
