Socialism is just a fancy word for more government control, more intrusion, more taxes, less freedom, less productivity, and less personal responsibility. All you really get in return is government run healthcare like the VA, and government run college. It's not worth it. You'd be better off enlisting in the military for 4 years and earning it.
Last one was started by National socialist workers party (Nazi) and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
How about Korean War? That was started by the Workers Party.
Socialists may have not started all wars but they surely trumped in the area of genocides! Socialists murdered more people than the entire human history combined purely for their money and for having different opinions.
Frankly, had it not been USA, those socialists would still have been slaughtering their own citizens and others alike.

One of the broadest commonalities I've noticed from the rise of communist nations is foreign powers exploiting the country before the lurch to a militant totalitarian rule. Think colonialism/imperialism from more advanced nations.
Communism, especially during the 20th century seem more to me like retaliation against foreigners. It doesn't surprise me that we'll find ethnic/religious purges against groups that aren't considered natives.
The ideals of communism are good for galvanizing the masses and really have served as a trojan horse for dictatorships.
Look at Korea's history before it's civil war. It wasn't a pretty picture.
Look at Vietnam's too.
I would bet anywhere there was a communist revolt we'll find meddling from foreign powers prior to.

Meddling from foreign power has existed ever since the concept of nation was born.
Last I heard socialism was government (i.e. "the people") ownership of most if not all industry. We don't have that and no one in this country wants it.
