Why just why is has this been allowed and in some cases still? The allowance of just coming over without following and respecting a Countries immigration procedures. Irks me

The case of this person(blue font below) How could he have worked for the city for 22 years!!!!
Why isn’t this city checking citizenship and Social Security numbers?
Is Yonis Ali using a fake SS#?
The city gives a pretty darn good wage and retirement package. Where will that retirement money go?
And the city gives him high marks when he has to go back to his Country of citizenship, they want him to stay
There are plenty hard working American law abiding citizens who should of had his job the last 22 years!!!

Ninety-two Somali citizens were flown out of the United States under orders of deportation on Thursday, but their plane never made it to Somalia. The flight landed in the West African country of Senegal and, facing logistical problems, was rerouted back to the United States.

It was an unexpected, 5,000-mile backtrack for the migrants, some of whom have lived in the United States for years, or even decades, while on a list for deportation because they had entered the country without proper documentation.

Ms. Hunter said she also had no advance notice when immigration officials recently transported five of her clients from their Minnesota homes. (They were first taken to Louisiana to prepare for their deportation.) Her law firm scrambled to secure stays of removal for the men and helped three avoid the flight.

Now that the other two have had their deportations delayed, Ms. Hunter said she would keep working to prevent their removal. Neither client has a criminal record, and both have been in the United States for more than a decade. One is married to a permanent resident and has children who are

Many Somali citizens who are in the United States without documentation have been able to stay for years despite deportation orders because Somalia would not grant them the necessary travel documents. Mogadishu, which opened an embassy in Washington in 2015, appears to be cooperating with American officials to accept more of its citizens back.

. Meanwhile, a judge last week temporarily halted the deportation of Yonis Ali, a sidewalk inspector for the city of Minneapolis who came to the U.S. 22 years ago.

Ali's lawyer asked the judge to stop the deportation so he could continue going through the process to gain legal status. His supervisor at the city wrote a letter saying he was an employee in good standing.

Another Somali national who had lived in Minnesota, Abubakar Sheikh, was pulled off the plane at the last minute and allowed to stay.

Not sure why they need a criminal record to be removed!

Why did we have to go through all the hassle of legal immigration and paying all the fees, wait in line and provide all the required papers if you can stay here "fee free" and don't have to be in compliance with I-94 conditions and leaving every few years and paying tickets, and just get to do it all illegally and get a free return flight!

Even lawyer will fight for you for free while we had to pay!

Something doesn't make sense!

Yes, it truly makes no sense. All that paid for.

It seems so much of a spit on the face to citizens and to the immigrants who spent thousands to come here thru the legal process.

I think city of Minneapolis should be looked into on having an illegal worker for 22 years!
Is someone looking into how he is using a SS#?

Overblown.
There were logistical problems with the crew. Getting into Somalia is not always straightforward. They will try again and succeed.

As the article stated, 521 illegals were removed in 2017 and only 198 in 2016.

And libs love to ask "Tell us what Trump has done!!"
Now they know.

That's actually not even true - deportations are lagging under Trump compared to Obama, and he was no prize when it came to enforcing immigration, either.

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...-levels-241420

"From Feb. 1 to June 30, ICE officials removed 84,473 people — a rate of roughly 16,900 people per month. If deportations continue at the same clip until the fiscal year ends Sept. 30, federal immigration officials will have removed fewer people than they did during even the slowest years of Barack Obama's presidency.

In fiscal year 2016, ICE removed 240,255 people from the country, a rate of more than 20,000 people per month."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.99796e7c30f1

In short, arrests are up, but deportations are down, so Trump is basically just wasting the public's money chasing "brown people." Big shock there.

Geez, guys - the bigot in chief can't even deport brown people, one of his big campaign promises, at a rate higher than Obama!

What a stupid post. Sanctuary cities, sponsored by the Looney Left, hide illegals and then attempt to ridicule anyone who wants to rid the country of these unwanted illegal residents. Only the most biased and uninformed of people would believe the tripe you are trying to sell.

Illegal immigration is way down under Trump. If ICE removes fewer people it is only because they are removing themselves before ICE gets to them.

The best way to ensure deported illegal aliens stay out of the country is to line them up against the Great Wall of Trump and shoot each one in the back of the head. Bullets are cheap. Supporting an illegal alien and its family is expensive.

OK. Maybe that's a little extreme, but we gotta get rid of them.

The thing that just blows me away is SOMALIA?! Somalia is half a world away. I cannot imagine how a Somali gets to America except through Mexico. Is that how they have done it? Recent reports show Somalis and others hiking across the border to Canada, so maybe that's how they got here.

Whatever. We need to build that wall and we need to stop chain migration.
