Where did you learn your history? You're way off base.

Hm.......only about 15% of the workforce was Union in 2000 or so when Baby Boomers were at the peak of their careers.....and, of course, many Union workers deserve to be Union Workers.....

Can't be too many Baby Boomers doing this. I know among the folks I have grown up with - only ONE Union member...worked for the Post Office. He is retired but no wealthy and he is definitely far to the left.

After the plowing over American voters with this Xmas present of a tax bill to his friends we could probably say his voter popularity is actually , simply, .1 to 1 percent of the population .

And that may be high just based on Americans that are benefiting from him being President.

Unions, no, but many Boomers still have got it good with pensions, which will be nothing more than historical artifact for most Millennials. Even if most companies have eliminated pensions, this often only applies to workers under a certain age (Boomers get grandfathered in), and even if that's not the case, Boomers still get years of free money they're able to roll over into 401Ks. This is one reason why Millennials are better savers than Boomers; they don't have the prospect of comfy pensions awaiting them in their golden years.

Uh no don’t put sexual liberation and gay rights on us gen Xers. We were not an activist generation in any way, if anything coming of age during the age of Reagan made us more on the conservative side. Boomers own sexual liberation and millenials own the gay thing. Much of our generation does not look kindly on either one. Remember we are the generation that had been busy just living our lives, changing the world is for boomers and millenials. That is what is so ironic about this little generational spat. In some ways y’all are just so alike. God help our nation.

Xers came of age during the 1990s. You guys pushed cultural liberalism down the throats of this country through music and TV programming. It was you guys who introduced the rainbow flag at the DNC convention. The characters in Will and Grace were part of your generation. Don't deny the contributions of your fellow Xers.

Generation X is more liberal than the Boomers and was more liberal at the same ages. In fact, more Gen Xers identify as liberal Democrats today than in 2000.

Younger, older generations divided in partisanship and ideology | Pew Research Center

Boomers are to the right of the nation as a whole and were also to the right of the Silent and Greatest Generations, who had developed a greater sense of social solidarity having gone through a depression and monumental war together.

I always find it strange how conservative some boomers are when you consider that they were the hippie generation.

Was the hippie aspect of the generation overblown? Or did they just grow out of it and change over time?

Watching people of my age grow up (I'm an older "millennial"), I can tell that we're not changing very dramatically in our beliefs over time. I remember ~10 years ago people telling us that we'd start "changing" once we had kids and buying houses. Guess what? We have been doing all of that, and we're still pretty progressive as a generation. So I'm not sure I buy the "hippies converted" theory...

Yeah, I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion seeing that Gen X votes net Democratic and is also considered the MTV Generation.

The MTV Generation refers to the adolescents and young adults of the 1980s and early 1990s, a time when many were influenced by MTV television channel, which launched in 1981. The term is often used synonymously with Generation X.
