Let the $$$$ start flowing. Looks like after some shed lib tears, a few fruitless lawsuits and couple of dead caribou later the drilling will finally be a go. Let's just hope that it's as big or bigger than they say it will be. MAGA.

Yup--you may want to take a look at the beauty of it before Trump and his cronies crap all over it.

I have no doubt that if they discovered oil beneath Yellowstone or Yosemite the cons would be screaming to open them up for drilling as well.

The coastal plain 1002 area where they will be drilling is a frozen swamp wasteland. The pictures natgeo and the like show you of the far away brooks range and scenic areas are misleading and will be unaffected.

You don't know what you're talking about. It's the calving area for the Porcupine caribou herd. It's important to migratory birds. This isn't about scenic spots for tourists. It's a wildlife refuge. The impact to the wildlife and their habitat is the issue. Same reason large portions of the Everglades were protected. For wildlife not simply scenery for snapshots.

70 percent of Americans oppose drilling. Americans oppose drilling in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - Yale Program on Climate Change Communication

We're talking a 6 month to at most 18 month supply for the U.S. There's no defending destroying that place for that.

They would. Most of them believe Jesus is coming back soon to destroy the earth so there is no point in preserving anything. It's the same reason they don't believe in climate change.

It's beyond angering that we have now a fundamentalist apocalyptic death cult in complete and total control over the US.

We need educational requirements implemented for holding public office and for voting.
