They hate that they don't get special advantages anymore.
Trump did what he said he would do by leveling the field whereas foreign corporations have been allowed to walk all over us.
Did you even read the article? There are as many bad things for the US in there as there are good ones. For example:
"Excise tax - "Bearing in mind that almost half of transatlantic trade is intra-company trade, this risks seriously hampering genuine trade and investment flows between our two economies," they wrote."
Given how much trade the US and EU do together, that can hardly be a good thing.
Western Europe needs a dose a reality anyway, IMO. They have been mooching off of the US military umbrella for decades... spending the money they could be investing into building up their defensive programs, on their own domestic programs instead... while at the same time rubbing it in our faces that they have better healthcare and education than we do. It's not fair to US tax payers that WE should have to pay the majority of the bill required to to defend Europe while they get to enjoy their lavish healthcare, education, and welfare programs.
And as for the EU... well... we knew they were corrupt when they threatened to cut off or reduce trade with the UK if they followed through with Brexit.
We could have a fabulous health and education system and he’ll probably most advanced space program if we didn’t spend it on the rest of the world...
...just so that they could have those fantastic systems for themselves.
See how selfish and one sided Europe really is? They aren't these virtuous enlightened people, they are greedy power hungry, my way or the highway bullies
Yep.
And they directly tried to influence the vote too.
The only ones who listened, apparently, were the Democrats.

The United States of America has been taken advantage of for decades. It's an open secret across the globe how easy it is to jerk us around. Under Donald Trump, that crap is coming to an end. I friggin love this President!

Not quite, they have a legitimate complaint about us treating their goods differently then is agreed within the WTO. I wonder if us treating Puerto Rico differently as well may cause that argument to fail within the WTO.
And while everyone may be cheering this, I would also argue.....its a good start. But we have a ways to go. As another poster pointed out, we've provided the military to protect these folks for decades. We need to reduce our military, not increase it, and make it far more defensive. That money would be better invested in things like DARPA.
What is proposed is a 20 per cent "excise tax" on purchases by US companies from foreign subsidiaries which would not apply to similar domestic transactions.
The EU has stated “Given this measure would impact on genuine commercial arrangements, and would do so only where payments are being made for foreign goods and services, it could discriminate in a manner that would be at odds with international rules embodied in the WTO.
"Bearing in mind that almost half of transatlantic trade is intra-company trade, this risks seriously hampering genuine trade and investment flows between our two economies, which remain a central artery of the world economy."
The EU ad other countries will just hit back, with a 20% excise tax on purchases by EU or other companies using US subsidaries, it's as simple as that and this will destroy jobs and trade in the US rather than create jobs and trade.

Americans, don't buy much stuff made in the EU.
