We pay into the system but it's so insolvent that there is a snowball's chance on Mercury of it still being around by the time we're ready to use it. Why aren't we demanding that Congress fix the problem and stop spending further? It's already broke and now they're on their way to bankrupting the IOUs on it.

Why are you singling out millennials? SS affects everyone, including generations before and after this cohort.
Worse case scenario has Social security paying out 75% of its normal rate if we do nothing. So....not exactly insolvent so much as needing to be funded at a higher rate.
A better solution is to make the social security tax apply to all income, not just the first 115K or so.
What cap do you mean? Do you mean you want to tax people more on their Social Security money to....pay for their social security funding? If you mean more taxes on pre-retirement income, I'm sure that will stop the federal government from spending that money like they currently are doing already by raising more taxes on people.

They should allow you to be part of a privatized system so you can get better returns and count on it being there.
