He has also pledged to prosecute them and treat them as national security threats first. But yes someone who has truly turned away from the ideology is a great voice to turn others. Why wouldn't they be? It's not just some blanket forgiveness and reintegration invite like the alt-right press is making it out to be.

Trudeau’s willingness to enlist jihadists as community ambassadors blurs the important distinction between ordinary Muslims and violent extremists, doing no favours to Canadian Muslims.

Worst of all, Trudeau’s naïve assumptions about ISIS fighters omit the prospect of justice for the victims of Islamic State genocide and war crimes.

How do you re-integrate a radical isis fighter??? Please enlighten me.

How do you re-integrate radical fighters? It's doable but extremely difficult. Last time America tried to do this, the defeated Confederate soldiers turned into southern conservatives and they are still a major thorn in the side of America. Maybe Canada will have better luck...

So you are trying to compare a 7th century Islamic Totalitarian Oppressive Anti-Western Political Ideology to confederate soldiers in the 1800's ?

Please enlighten me more on how Canada will accomplish this..... according to Trudeau , they have surveillance on all these soldiers returning home.

And why should anyone believe them when they say they have "...truly turned away from the ideology..."? As far as I'm concerned anyone who joins ISIS has forever forfeited any claim to decency, sanity, and credibility. They will always be suspect.

The quran clearly states its okay to lie to infidels

Quran (16:106) - Establishes that there are circumstances that can "compel" a Muslim to tell a lie.

Quran (3:28) - This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to "guard themselves" against danger, meaning that there are times when a Muslim may appear friendly to non-Muslims, even though they should not feel friendly.

It’s doable only for a handful, but what about the fact they left the country to fight for the other side? People talk about the Charter of Rights and they cannot be convicted of crimes they didn’t commit in Canada (though it’s an absolute certainty they committed the worst crimes humanly possible in Syria and Iraq), but what about becoming an enemy combatant? That would seem like high treason in any country. I would think the punishment should at least be no admittance back into the country, and at worst life in prison. I see no hope that these people attracted to mass murder, rape, and slavery are able to be rehabilitated.

(Not directed at you specifically, because I agree with your post with the exception of saying southerners are still a thorn in the side lol).

Yes. Anyone attracted to an outfit noted for its' cruelty and heartlessness has a fundamental problem. Sociopath, sadist, whatever. Not just some "mixed-up" kid.

From where did you get your psychology degree?

Or, are you making an assertion based on nothing but ignorance?
