It seems that freedom of expression is everyone's right except when it offends someone, and then it is no longer a right.
Utter nonsense.
Your right to express yourself doesn't mean no one else has a right to express themselves when they take issue with your expression. As usual, freedom doesn't mean freedom from consequences.
You are not the only person with that right. I'm not sure why so many have such a difficult time with this concept.

Also this wasn't in the US...
Comments on a forum are not really a response to this woman's self expression. They are a form of virtual public shaming that often deteriorates to mob mentality.
Personally, I'd get quite salty if some family acquaintance deliberately insulted my fiancee to her face.
This was the Queen's thing and there were many guests. Are we to think that the Queen's thing was really all about the actress from Suits, and that all the guests had her in mind when they got dressed that morning?

Wasn't it Prince Harry who dressed up as a Nazi for Halloween? It's not like he's particularly concerned about sensitive people, is he? Has he suddenly become all soft and politically correct?
It wasn't just that she wore the brooch -- it's she wore the brooch AND has said some questionable racist things in the past.
There's always more to the story then some drama mamma's headlines.
If anyone has uttered questionable and or racist things from the Windsor-Mountbatten family in past it would be Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh. It is a good thing they've stopped his official functions; given past gaffs you just don't know what might slip out of PP's lips about his soon to be grand-daughter in law and her family.
This was when Michelle Obama put her arm around the Queen, after the Queen had put her arm around her.
Then she hugged her as they departed. The royal watchers called it 'irregular' and 'non standard protocol'
stuff like that. But of course after it was run through the right wing outrage machine, Michelle was guilty of crimes against humanity.
In theory no, one does not touch the monarch. But there have been other instances where that protocol was breeched and no lasting harm was done.
