I don't mind if someone doesn't say Merry Christmas to me. I appreciate a Happy Holidays, enjoy your holiday -- even have a great day. It is all meant for good and it's nice when people with you well. I think that is Christmas -- folks being genuinely kind and caring.

BUT I have really big issue with someone who chooses to be nasty, critical, mean on Christmas Eve on social media. Don't they know about the true meaning of Christmas. Sad

Saying Merry Christmas and then being a Grinch on Christmas Eve is a war on Christmas.

If you spin it that far, then technically everyone who isn't a devout Christian is conducting a "war on Christmas.". And that would include a lot of conservatives, too.

Someone disliked the pic of your dog in a Santa hat?

Grinch or grouch? The Grinch wanted to ruin Christmas for everyone, because he hated it, and didn't want anyone else to enjoy it either. The mere sight of seeing people happy made him angry.

Criticizing people on social media on Christmas Eve has nothing to do with being the grinch, nor is it a war on Christmas.

What are you even talking about?

With that said, I have major complaints about Christmas. And I am actually with the pope when he claims that Christmas has be hijacked by worldliness(IE materialism/consumerism). And I think the vast-majority of people, whether they intend to or not, are engaging in a war on Christmas, because they have perverted it to be all about gifts and Santa, and not about Jesus.

In fact, if anything, I tell everyone constantly that I am the grinch. I hate the gift-giving, because it has become less about trying to do nice things, as it is simply avoiding feeling guilty, or trying to compete with other people, and I tell everyone not to get me anything.

Lightbulb New War on Christmas -- being nasty on Christmas Eve on social media

Stop it, everybody!

Let's remember the reason for the season.

Nasty is as nasty does.

How is being critical on Christmas Eve a war on Christmas? From your post it seems like you are saying criticism generally....not critcism of Christmas itself. So if someone criticizes the theory of global warming on Christmas Eve they are conducting a war on Christmas? But it's OK on December 23?
