i suspect 3 more before Trump leaves office. As long as Trump is President there can be no liberal judges appointed.

I don't think some of the aged ones can hold out 7 more years....

  • Breyer is 79. Got to wonder if he might want to enjoy some retirement years.
If Trump replaces either, it could be a dramatic shift in the makeup of the court for decades to come.

Obama losing the US Senate cost him that historic opportunity to do the same with the death of Scalia.
obama losing the senate saved America... Rejoice...

Ginsburg will be the first to go. Kennedy and Breyer will be gone before 2020.

Undervalued are the mass of judges he's been quietly putting into the district courts, circuit courts, appeals courts, federal claims courts & the dozens of US Attorney spots he's filling. He's worked at record pace.

Not so much in the 9th Circuit. Ironically if he fills all the vacancies in the 9th Circuit and the federal district courts in it there will be parity between D appointees and R appointees. With the Carter appointees who gave that court its liberal bent dead or retired, that would mean some very big changes. He's been slow filling those vacancies - presumably there were some attorneys in the Western states who supported him, even in California and Hawaii, so he doesn't have an excuse not to fill those vacancies.
