There's only like 7-8 million Jews in the U.S. and they mostly live in Florida, along I-95, and in the west coast cities.

"Militant demand?" I suppose some people are that way but I don't know anyone like that. The gripe some people have with this issue is a belief that the word Christmas is not politically correct and should be avoided. Personally, I would be very pleased if someone walked up to me and wished me a happy Hanuka even though I'm not Jewish.

NYC also has a large Jewish population. I know a lot of Jews that celebrate Christmas, watch all the Christmas specials, etc. If I know someone is Jewish I say Happy Hanukah.

You’re trying to make sense out of something that is not logical. Save yourself be trouble and accept that the whole thing is stupid. LOL

If Christmas was only about a religious event we would not be saying MERRY Christmas. We would be saying SOLEMN Christmas or something similar. The Christmas "season" includes something merry for everyone, no matter what their religious beliefs. Please feel free to share your happiness with everyone.

If I were in a country that was majority Muslim and they had a major holiday like Ramadan which coincided with Christmas (I know it doesn’t, but I’m not going to search the calendar for overlapping religious holidays), I wouldn’t be upset if I were greeted with “Peace be upon you for Ramadan.”

I’d take it as someone wishing me well.

If I ever travel to Israel in late December, I won’t be upset if I’m constantly bombarded with Happy Hanukkah.

I doubt anyone, who isn’t desperately searching for an offense, is really upset by it.

Yeah, I covered NYC in the I-95 corridor.

There are large swaths of the country, especially the South, where there are only a handful if any Jews.

That sounds pretty insane.

The big deal is from those who celebrate the Christmas Holiday not those who don't. Remember not so long ago there was a public outcry from those who felt the true meaning of season was being exploited by crash commercialism they also felt saying anything but Merry Christmas was inappropriate. The following year when Starbucks opted to go with a plain red or green cup foregoing their traditional winter scene these same people complained about the lack of commercialism over the season.

The point is the average person couldn't care less its the fanatics that always are making a point over it.

Happy Holiday.....

I say Happy Holidays to people I don't know to cover Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Amazing how Happy Holidays has become such a hot button issue.
