The degree of homelessness in the People's Glorious Republic of California is unreal, but don't look to the Hollywood crowd for help.
They only want to boost how self-righteous they are; contributing money (say as much they spend on fillers in a year) to help homeless isn't an alternative.
This video was taken Christmas Day in downtown LA.

Because they know that money will never actually go to the homeless, it will either wind up padding the salaries of unionized public employees or it will wind up in the Cayman Islands.

When rich Hollywood stars and athletes say WE need to fix the homeless problem, what they really mean is YOU fix it and give them their photo op in the soup kitchen as if they were doing something meaningful...

Right - because if I go to acting school and get a decent job acting...that somehow means I have the responsibility of pressure washing the sidewalk in the homeless camps?
The "logic" of the right is something to behold. Why don't they ask about the Kochs or Waltons (the latter creating a lot of poverty)? Why not ask why the Bankers aren't down there solving the problem?
No....for some reason, it's an entertainer who should have the obligation...according to their "Reason"'.
I guess they have watched and listened to entertainment for so many years (Fox, Hate Radio), that they actually think they are one and the same...reality and fantasy. When I see Rushbo's opiate addled arse spooning out 10's of millions and standing at the soup kitchen for a week, then we'll talk. As it is, he's probably laughing with Trump in FL about how much more in debt they just stole...
AZ also has some of the worst rates of poverty in some of their urban centers out of the entire country.
The Reservations ain't exactly McMansions either.
Let's not go through all this again. Basically you can take ANY metric, from violence to STD's to life spans to education to obesity to income....etc. etc....and the top and bottom 10 usually line up in a similar fashion (I'd say with 80% certainty).
Not only that - many on the right don't even believe in feeding or housing the hungry. They want them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.....and not spend a penny of taxpayer money on the needy.
I've seen many on CD express that exact view.
What happened? Did Xmas make some "con" hearts bleed for once?
