I agree, claymoore. I don't know what was going through their heads, whether any of them have records, etc., but none of that would justify trying them as adults to me.
Really? What would?
And the lack of a record matters not one bit to those of us appalled at the actions of these little ---t---s, whose actions killed a 22-year-old who was minding his own business.
They have a record now, and it's a pretty egregious one, wouldn't you say?
But, good news for the bleeding hearts (bleeding for the perps) among us: The 13-year-old, if convicted, can only serve "time" in the juvenile system until he's an adult.
You must be a big-spending, tax-loving Democrat. Life in Prison? At their young ages, let's get out the calculator: Estimate of $40-50k a year (both direct and indirect costs) per inmate in prison, and at 14, he serves his full sentence: $45k X 60 = 2.7 Million. And when they get elderly, the costs skyrocket!
And, many do, die in their 80's, so let's tack on another $450k and we're at 3.1 million!
And, meanwhile, how many bridges are going to fall down?
And I suppose it would never to occur to you there are those that actually enjoy prison life, and view those outside prison as idiots! 3 meals a day, 24 hour TV, drugs brought in from the prison guards, even regular sex, how many on the outside are getting that?
Some things are worth that kind of expenditure; some are not.
Newsflash: It's those "big-spending, tax-loving Democrats" who, curiously, only whip out their calculators when it comes to punishing the dregs of humanity.

Since you quoted me, allow me to address your idiocy.
[q]Sean Carter, 14, William Parker, 14, Pedro Salinas, 13, and Demetrius Wimberly, 14, have been charged as adults, which means they face up to life in prison[/q]
Do you comprehend "life in prison" in the above sentence or is it over your head? As a hard-core conservative, I would just as soon take them out and shoot them, but I doubt that will be a sentencing option.
Now you know and you should feel pretty damned silly.
The 22-year-old, of Michigan, died after the group, who were all 13 or 14, dropped the sandbag off an overpass onto Interstate 75 in December. Byrd died three days after the incident.
The teens previously pleaded guilty in juvenile court to charges of murder, manslaughter and vehicular vandalism.
All four boys, who InsideEdition.com has chosen not to identify, will go to the youth treatment center for at least eight months.
