You must be talking about the blue states deliberately over taxing their own populations?
Like Texas, that has one of the highest property taxes in the country with cities like Houston and Austin where over 10% of their residents have property tax bills that exceed $10,000 a year? Two other states in the top ten are Michigan and Wisconsin, both of which Trump won in 2016. Republicans just punched them in the face with their tax plan.
I am begining to wonder if that the Republicans truly are just the party of the rich and just playing the middle class for votes like the Democrats do.
If the media would check Dem talking points, the evidence that Dems are the party of the rich is easy to find. The deeper you dig into the rich R's compared to the rich D's are, tells you a lot about the values of the two parties.
Look at who votes Democrat:
See a pattern here?
- Those who want money from the govt (bureaucrats, teachers, welfare recipients), they're the Dems.
- People who deal in the arts, entertainment and social science - unproven ideas are Democrats.
- The guys who sell sizzle (celebrities),
- the guys in strike-it-rich businesses (Wall St. and high tech and class-action lawyers).
- Lawyers are the single biggest donor block, 4:1
- government bureaucrats,
- teachers,
- union members, and above all, government unions.
- academia,
- entertainment and the media
- welfare recipients
Generally Vote R ....
- Doctors supported the Republican 5:1
- Small business owners vote Republican.
- Registered nurses vote Republican.
- Married women vote Republican.
- Farmers vote Republican.
- The military and engineers and national security experts are Republican.
So a tax plan should exist that is designed to deliberately target the opposing party including blue states and colleges. And the dollars taken from them are given to wealthy GOP donors. It looks like the Republican Party wants to lead the country into Civil War.
Guess which side has all the weapons. It ain't the blue states.

Texas also has no income tax so most people will still see a net decrease in federal taxes.
Why are people so dense to look at just one aspect of a tax plan when the entire tax plan is designed to work around the various facets? It is like if I told you that I am going to lower your income taxes by $100 but raise your property taxes by $50 and you would think it is a bad idea because your property taxes are going up $50.
It is pretty simple, almost all Americans (95%) will either have their taxes lowered (85%) or stay the same (10%).

Housing is much cheaper in Texas than CA and Austin is already blue so they wouldn't vote R anyway. People whine about the tax % rates but when an equal house is 400 grand cheaper in TX...well, ya. There's that.

Please cite sources for that and the methodology they used to make that determination. I do not believe it will works to be anything remotely close to that.

Wow, if you can't get that your Democratic politicians tax the bejesus out of you then you're dense. And the rest of the country shouldn't have to help you pay it.

I think all the democrats in high tax states should be mad at their legislators for continuously raising taxes.

Which just goes to show how high the property taxes are. Texas houses are indeed cheaper yet those cities have over 10% of their residents exceeding $10,000 a year in property taxes. That further makes the point.
