Yeah, bet he got an earful from all those retired people that he 'represents'.
Florida has a large quantity of real estate with tax bills higher than $10,000/year, even in red areas of Florida. Many of these people will get increased federal income taxes.
I thought it was significant that he stated he felt they went too far for corporations.
That's fair. I guess I can see that point. But, even with that, his overall point was that the help to corporations, won't create the kind of "dramatic economic growth" that some predict. Ultimately, though, I think any significance in that statement is overshadowed by the position that he still thinks the bill is a major improvement on the current tax bill and that he'd vote for the bill again.

yep, he feels that the corporations are going to buy back their stock to get an increase in stock price, because that is what happened last time taxes were cut on corporations. however the corporations that did that learned a huge lesson back then, as stock buy backs were largely harmful to the companies involved. IBM for instance had to sell off parts of that company, specifically the PC division, to raise R&D money to get product back into the pipeline. these companies are going to learn from their mistakes of the past.
Can this guy be anymore of jellyfish? I'm actually glad Trump made fun of him, he is 'little marco' and he should go away. he is such an obvious pushover with no conviction whatsoever. FL should kick his butt to the curb, so he can get to his real love - lobbying in the shadows for special interests. Guy makes me sick. The whole GOP congress is basically 100% full of scumbags who don't even know right from wrong and have no interest in helping the people of this country. Awful awful human beings. gross.
Rubio seems to be admitting there is no trickle down. What a revelation.
That's the sense I got from his article. It's a shame he couldn't stand up more and work for something that might trickle down. I'm sorry but, while any tax cut is nice, it's really just never significant enough to outweigh where our other cuts or "paybacks" are going to come from. Only someone who can't think past today is going to fall for that (...realizing though that there are many people like that...).
Rubio has the backbone of a jellyfish. I mean it is barely a week after the bill was pushed though/singed and he's already backsliding. This despite GOP having bent backwards to give him what he wanted to ensure his vote. Talk about wicked ingratitude.
The guy is a weasel at best or worse a rat. Clearly Rubio is looking over his shoulder at his reelection chances.
Republicans will see just what blue states think of them in 2018. Rubio doesn't get to say "sorry" now. It was the most maliciously targeted tax bill in history, deliberately designed to go after blue states and colleges. Democrats need to personalize this through ads all through 2018.
Nevermind the 8 years of Obamanomics ripping the red states to shreds with economy destroying regulations all to beneift the socialist scum on the coasts. Now you have a problem?
Clearly Rubio is looking over his shoulder at his reelection chances.
He's not up for re-election in the senate until 2022.
Makes you wonder if he's positioning himself for a 2020 Presidential run if Trump doesn't run.
