All you here about from Democrats is how this is a tax cut for the rich but tax changes wont effect so many people. The earned income credit is still there I presume and many will get their big check come tax time?
The dems love mitt now though just like they like Mccain because they dont like Trump, they didnt like them when they were running against Obama. They will even let w. bush show off his very average oil paintings as long as he talks about trump
"Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax."
— Mitt Romney on Thursday, May 17th, 2012 in remarks at a campaign fundraiser
Mitt Romney says 47 percent of Americans pay no income tax
"Mitt Romney told wealthy donors gathered at a high-dollar campaign fundraiser that there’s a group of voters he believes he can never win over: people who pay no taxes.
In his remarks, Romney used broad strokes to characterize millions of people who he said solidly support President Barack Obama.
"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what," Romney said in the video
All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what.
"And I mean the president starts out with 48, 49 percent … he starts off with a huge number," Romney continued. "These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn’t connect. So he’ll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that’s what they sell every four years. And so my job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
"And so my job is is not to worry about those people." You're welcome.
Incidentally, Romney at least managed to specify "income tax" rather than "any taxes". Anyway, what's the point? Want a do-over? For the record, I'd take Mitt Romney over what you guys actually saddled us with any day of the week.
They are disabled, students, elderly, the working poor and some very poor. Earned income tax credits, child tax credits and other such policies are heavily supported by Republicans. They brag openly about moving people "off the rolls" so more and more people dont pay federal income tax. Then they go to their voters and say: "hey, look at that lazy bum over there, not paying taxes but getting benefits! Time to slash benefits!"
the truth o meter is spot on. romeny said the 47% pay no INCOME TAXES. listen to the video posted.
what the democrats fail to acknowledge is that every time taxes have been cut, the tax burden on the rich went UP, not down.
Taxes on the rich went down, benefits and services slashed. GOP policy is about cutting taxes for the rich, they are fine with more people not paying federal income taxes. Its the GOP voters who get riled up about more people not paying federal income taxes. And the party bosses are fine with the voters getting riled up about that as well. Thats the whole point.
In the interest of staying factual, he did. It was his comment on how "those people" weren't worth worrying about. (The entire idea that people on disability or retirees on low incomes or other unfortunates needed to be convinced "that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives" didn't help matters.)
Not very clever to tell 47% of the voters that you don't worry about them - then of course he didn't have the testicular fortitude to say it in public, either.

First two or three paragraphs he carries on about the 47% - no mention of income tax. Does throw it in later on. But he leads without stating the income tax parameter. BS all the way. Those people pay lots of taxes directly or indirectly..
