There's another industry President Trump has improved: TV News money.

Quote:
"Fox News finished 2017 as the most-watched cable network in all of TV for the second consecutive year, with an average of 1.5 million viewers, up 8% over last year. MSNBC finished third among all cable competition with 890,000 viewers, up 48% to a new high, while CNN finished sixth with 783,000, up 4%. Most impressively, all three news networks improved on the record viewing levels achieved in 2016, a year bolstered by an epic presidential election campaign. Cable news channels traditionally expect an audience decline following an election year, but the unpredictability of the Trump White House generated interest, passion and anger that kept audiences tuned in throughout 2017."

Three things:

1. Fox News was the most watched Cable Network not just the Most Watched Cable NEWS Network and MSNBC was third and CNN was sixth. That's 3 of the Top 10 cable channels were news channels. Do you know what that means? They all can charge more for advertising than they have in the past. Remember ratings measure VIEWERS not fans. Trump is good for the cable news business. No wonder all of those news opinion jockeys and White House correspondents try to get Trump to mention them by name so they can talk about it for days.

2. If you think you are seeing more reality shows (cheaper than dramas to make) on cable now you know why. If all of the NEWS cable channels are all up in viewers, where are the viewers coming from? Probably other cable channels. Those other channels will have to charge less for advertising, making dramas (more expensive), even less popular to make.

3. Even though CNN fell behind MSNBC this year, it had more viewers than it's ever had in the history of CNN (goes back to the 1980s).

And they are all surprised.

I would LOVE it if POTUS mentioned this in the State of The Union address in the economy part of the speech.
