20 feds vs. 1100 new local hires, new tech, etc.. Statistically speaking, what likely had more of an effect? But who knows.
There are only five districts that have very high crime rates. The numbers dropped during the second half of the year after the Feds arrived and only dropped in two of the five districts.
The 1,100 new hires they keep talking about only replaced people they had promoted who weren't going to be on patrol anymore. So it didn't result in 1,100 additional officers. See how sneaky the top brass is with their language?

Really? Because someone said they'd send the feds in, that made criminals back off? Because someone said? When has that ever worked?
Clearly people here celebrate the 650 number as some kind of accomplishment of Trump, which means they think he owns it. The truth is 650 murders is not a good number, as it is above average of the recent years.
I don't know if it had to do with Trump. You don't get it. I don't care about averages, that's your schtick. It is less than the prior year, meaning someone/s who might have been dead is/are not. I am not celebrating anything other than a smaller number of dead people than the year before. Hopefully this year will be even less. Whatever anyone does to drive the numbers down is good for those who would otherwise be dead and their families. So if 650 is less than the year before that is a good thing no matter how you want to spin it.
650 is nothing to celebrate when the annual average has been less than 500.
It is bizarre to see people rip Obama when Chicago murders were 441, and then celebrate when its 650 under Trump, but we see the same trend in everything like employment numbers where 300K gain was 'pathetic' under Obama, but 200K is 'awesome' under Trump.

Donald Trumps policies will increase Chicago's murder rate, leave Chicago police without the proper training and equipment, and then bankrupt Chicago.
Chicago's murder rate is directly connected to poverty. And Trump's budget makes deep cuts to food assistance programs, utility assistance programs, and programs that assist needy families. Trumps budget also cuts funding for local first responders and police departments. Trumps budget cuts "mean lost opportunities for first-responder training and harder choices about what protective gear and equipment communities can afford to provide first responders." And this will cause law enforcement officers to be less prepared and equipped in deadly situations (limiting police actions against violent crimes.) Trump
