The federal reserve rescued the economy. Note they bought Trillions in buying Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed and US agency securities in buying Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed and US agency securities in the open market.

Quantitative easing did the trick. In point of fact, Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen after him both spoke often of the need for the Obama Administration to provide fiscal stimulus to aid in the recovery. He did not. Oh, and that puny 900 billion? That was already baked into the budget by the outgoing Bush administration.

None of the forgoing is disputable. The only thing fake is your attribution.

Oh, I forgot, those economic numbers were fake or somehow don't matter when Obama was president, but now magically they do and are real.

Donald Trump is doing huge political favors for many of the corporations that are giving out $1,000 bonuses. And these companies announcing pay raises are positive publicity for Trump, given in return for Trumps favors that give these corporations billions of extra dollars.

AT&T and Comcast are 2 of these corporations. And Trump has already done AT&T and Comcast huge political favors with laws allowing AT&T and Comcast to charge higher prices and have a less-open internet.

Donald Trump's policies will give these corporations billions of extra dollars, the corporations then give out bonuses to give Trump positive publicity, and the corporations get positive public relations at the same time.

I feel the same way. This is largely political for a typical end of the year bonus which until the recession was fairly common. That or a union agreement, like AT&T's was. Another issue I see is why is this relegated to a one-time bonus, not wages?

Largest parts of American Airlines employees are all union (pilots, fight attendants, mechanics, etc...) whose healthcare and other bennies are part of negotiated contracts. Thus it is normally the union who is providing healthcare, AA like others in such situations kicks in contributions.

Everyone else could have had that also but the democrats decided that partisanship was more important than helping working people.

OMG, a thousand dollar bonus for some in the middle class. Let's celebrate. That's like $19 more dollars a week. How about instead of a bonus you give them raises that they can count on in every paycheck. This is not bad news for liberals. I think it's bad news for those who don't understand you need more money in each paycheck.
