Very good video from libertarian economist Peter Schiff, who was an advisor on Ron Paul's presidential campaign, discussing President Trump's hypocrisy about the economic numbers. Gotta admit that very few people have principles these days when politicians (and Presidents as we clearly see) change their views on a whim. Here is a small sample,

"He’s the president and now he’s trying to market the same crappy economy that Obama had and pretending everything is good. And I wish he would stay true to the candidate and admit, you know what? The economy is still disaster, because nothing has changed, right? He was going to drain the swamp. Instead, he just poured more water in the same swamp."

Do you agree with Schiff's assessment on Trump's huge reversal? Even the Trump supporters are now using things like BLS stats to try and back up their arguments, despite the fact that Candidate Trump said BLS stats were there just to make politicians look good. Thoughts on Trump's change of tune in one year and his embrace of the corrupt system?

Never mind Peter Schiff and his personal views. The economy today, is a smooth continuation of where the economy was 12 months ago. If we regard the Trump economy as being good, then we're forced to regard the Obama economy as also being decent. And if we think that the economy under Obama was moribund, and good news were phony, then the same assessment applies now.

His "assessment" is just an observation that Trump flip-flopped; it isn't an economic assessment of any kind.

I agree with him pointing out the obvious -- but nothing that man says should be taken seriously. Peter Schiff is a running joke among professional economists.
