I didn't agree with most anything Obama did, certainly not Obamacare. However, I still paid the Obamacare penalty each year, and paid the increased health insurance premiums. I didn't try to circumvent the laws just because I did not agree with them, or his idiot policies.

texas is a lot lower than NY...and more veteran friendly...

No one is trying to illegally circumvent the law.

Do yourself a favor and look up the property tax rates in TX before you move there.

It is interesting you had insurance and still paid the penalty for not having one

didn't say I was going to move there

but have been stationed there twice (FT Sam, and FT bliss areas)...and the taxes are MUCH lower than New York...higher than NC, but drastically lower than NY, and much lower than Florida, especially the Miami(little Havana) area
