Yeah, I mean in our lifetime, we will absolutely see China take over (heck it is only about 10-15 years when they'll have the #1 economy in the world). Our kids our going to live in a world where the Chinese navy patrols off the coast of the US all the way up and down the Western and Eastern seaboards as well as in the Gulf.

Maybe it won't be so bad though if America turns into a Germany - stable economy, high standard of living, and does not get themselves in tons of war. All throughout history the world leaders in economics and military get bogged down in endless wars that are quagmires.

you presume far too much about what china will be capable of in 15 years. sorry but their navy is rather tiny, and unless china puts tons of money into building a navy large enough to patrol US waters with virtual impunity, that will never happen. maybe in 50 years china will have a navy large enough to compete with the US, but not today and not in the next 25-30 years either.

China has never been interested in exporting its ideology to other countries, especially after the death of Mao.
This is fundamentally different from other countries with thick religious traditions, including all the western countries.

If people in Africa or Asia want to learn from China, they are not forced or threatened by sanctions.

Pulling out of TPP, idiotic tweets, and a generally nonexistent Asian foreign policy...yes, in one year, the moron in chief is changing the balance of power.

Me thinks you need to pay attention to what China is doing in the Caribbean, Nicaragua, and with a ton of small island nations in the Pacific.

Within the next 15 years, nearly ever single reliable source of economic information pegs China to overtake the US as the number one economy in the world (both in terms of PPP - which China has already done - and total GDP). That might come as early as 2025. That's is absolutely 100% inevitable. By the 2050s, the US might even be a distant 3rd, as India is expected to be even bigger than the US:

https://www.pwc.com/gx/en/issues/eco...d-in-2050.html

Right now China isn't focused on spending inordinate amounts of money on the military, that'll come later when they're blowing the US economically out of the water. Right now they're befriending a huge number of countries in the Pacific, all along the Indian Ocean, in Eurasia, in South America, in Latin America, and in the Caribbean. The world will be completely different in the 2050s when China's and India's economy is far larger than the US' and the US can no longer outspend their rivals. By then China will have built new naval ports all throughout the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans, and will have a new canal in Nicaragua to access the Atlantic and Eastern seaboard of the US. Yes, American children born today will absolutely be living in a world where the PLA Navy is patrolling all near the US like how we do it to them in the SCS. China is also the undisputed king of the world when it comes to high tech fields such as quantum communications, super computing research, and has recently developed cutting edge types of sonar that'd basically render the entire US submarine fleet obsolete, a technology which they've tried to keep out of the media headlines:

That's funny considering the buffoon and his minions currently running our country.

Now you know how they see us.

Weakens? I say $500B trade deficit every year is already weak. This line of come back is the standard operating procedure. Anything that puts America first, "backfires."

China’s navy isn’t tiny. It’s already the second largest in the world, with the second largest fleet of aegis capable destroyers and with the new 055 Class of 12000 tonnes super-destroyers, it will soon rival the us navy in the western pacific. They are also building their third carrier, their first super carrier with electric magnetic catapult system. Even though the Chinese are aiming to only build 6 carriers, it’s one of the few countries that can build carriers, and it already has more carrier than anyone else but the us.

But the Chinese will have no interest patrolling up and down the us coast, so you needn’t worry. China just wants to protect its energy sea lanes through the Indian Ocean. It has no interest trying to police the world like the us does.
