Yeah, It couldn't make my day no mater what the market did, up, down or sideways. It seemed like a safe statement and no way I could be wrong when I didn't have a 401K. I knew many other people did and it drew out their comments. I wanted to hear from them and see what their thinking was.
So in other words....you lied. To you a safe statement is one in which you lie. And you can't be wrong because you don't have a 401k, thus your statement about 401k's is always right.
That doesn't make you right. it just makes you someone who lies.

So you ADMIT that you lied then.
Clearly, there's nothing in your posts that we can trust. No real surprise I have to say.
Time to put you on "ignore" with the rest of the Russkies, comrade.
B-bye (or should I say "Proshchay").

I lied about nothing. People who made assumptions from the statement did it on their own. It may be people think its a lie b/c they can't accept their own responsibility, shortcomings and assumptions.
No where in this thread do I claim to have a current active 401K.
I have active self-managed accounts. Its the only kind of account that makes any sense if someone wants a retirement account. No one has a fiduciary relationship in a 401K or anyone to look out for their interest. People are stuck and at the mercy of the market riding it up and down. They have to accept the limited offerings the company makes available even if they aren't the best and once a year can make a decision on what to do within the offering. Its not the best way to invest but it works for those who don't know any better or don't want anything better.
People have different ideals and methods on how to invest. When I had my 401K I planed it out to get the most I could from it without losing anything. I was in bonds the five years and retired in Dec. and in Jan. of the new year closed it out to take advantage of the taxes. The only taxable source of income that year which allowed me to keep the most of what I made.
So you ADMIT that you lied then.

The election of the Democrats has had a devastating effect on the markets. And this fall coincides with the election.
They know Mad Maxine is going to cause absolute havoc.
As has been pointed out many times, the Dow began crashing long before the election. February, to be precise.
