Good.

It’s about time we made stuff here in America again. Why do we want to be economically dependent on a rival regime? We’re so worried about Russia, when China is far more powerful.

And I did not say Obama was still president, whatever assumptions you make are your own problem.

Falsely accusing me of saying something I didnt say is certainly is NOT ok.

so you are still trying to pick a fight and must get the last word, fine after this I wont respond again so you can have the last word.

I did not say(or assume) Obama was President. I simply stated that Obama is not President and I am correct, he isnt. Draw whatever conclusions you need to from that to make yourself feel better about yourself Furthermore I havent accused you of anything.

I didn't say you did, but YOU said that *I* did RIGHT HERE. When I mentioned Obama in the post of mine you were replying to, I spoke in the past tense:

So then you replied, "The year is 2018 and Obama is not the President."

Well ... DUH! Where did I say that the year WASN'T 2018 and that Obama was STILL president? Nowhere! Why you replied with that, I have no clue. Maybe you didn't notice I had spoken about conservatives gloating about bad things happening under Obama in the past tense. But since I did, your reply was pretty much useless. If we're to try to make any sort of logical sense of that reply of yours, the only thing anyone can come up with is that you think it's OK for conservatives to gloat about bad things that happened while Obama was prez, but it's not OK for liberals to gloat about bad things that happen under Trump. Which would be pretty hypocritical. But, that's assuming that reply of yours was supposed to make some sort of sense. Otherwise it was just a nonsensical, poorly thought out random piece of gibberish.

This would be understandable if there was good reason for it. But the chaos and selling is all Trump-made - ill thought out tariffs. The deficits from the tax reform were bad enough. GOP hoped - literally hoped without any real evidence - that tax revenues from hoped-for GDP growth due to the reform would offset the deficits.

Now, tariffs have shot that hope all to hell. There won't be any new tax revenues - and many manufacturers will not be bringing their businesses back if they are faced with tariffs on imported raw materials and then retaliatory tariffs when they sell overseas.

What a way to MAGA. Talk about being dumbasses.
Yes. Here now it is interesting to note how a POTUS CAN directly and immediately affect the markets and/or economy when typically these ups and downs are not the cause of one man (or woman). Rather than pursue an agenda that makes sense long-term in a gradual way so as to avoid shocks and the chaos you describe, Trump seems oblivious to how international markets work, and/or only where others countries "take advantage" of us while ignoring how we take full advantage too, in many ways for many years now.

Also a concern is that Trump has about as much appreciation or sensitivity about how all this affects fellow Americans as most billionaires do. Even worse, this one sits in the White House...

Any business person, most certainly including Trump, can explain to you how it's not all about who is making what...

We are no more "economically dependent" than Trump is dependent on his approval ratings. We have the largest domestic market in the world, and of course we do pretty well with exports too, over $5 trillion in trade, $2.3 trillion in exports and nearly $3 trillion in imports, but hey! We're some 5 to 6 percent of the world population and we consume nearly 20 percent of the world's energy resources. Beginning with facts like that, it gets a little hard to manage a trade surplus, but does Trump speak to any of that? Of course not.

While meanwhile, American businesses and consumers who consume those imports (from China and the EU) are wondering why they now are going to "pay a price" while whomever Trump chooses to favor with tariffs are going to gain at their expense. Not like our trading partners are not quickly figuring out how to bring some pain our way too.

We aren't "draining the swamp" or making the water any clearer. We're just making it choppier, murkier and harder for Americans to swim. Trump doesn't care. He's got a yacht, the Trump Princess...

I think that article is pulled from the past. He was forced by banks to sell that yacht a long time ago....and he certainly doesn't have it docked in AC, where all his Casinos folded.

"Trump bought his first “Trump Princess” in the 1980s from the Sultan of Brunei and then commissioned a second, larger “Trump Princess” from a from a Dutch-based shipyard, Amels, that ran into financial trouble. In 1991, Trump hit his own financial woes as his Taj Mahal casino floundered and he sold “Trump Princess” No. 1 to Saudi Arabia’s Prince Al-Waleed. According to the New York Times, a ‘Trump Princess’ yacht was among the assets taken by his creditor banks as part of a wider restructuring of debts on his casinos in 1992. In the same year, Trump was forced to sell a 49% stake in the Plaza Hotel to his creditor banks, in a deal that slashed the value of the book value of his holding from $830 million to around $130 million."

I think Trump ought to lead the way and move all of his orders for new goods to American companies to manufacture them domestically. That is the only way I'll believe he's interested in American jobs.

Trump, however, is all about Trump. Screw America.
