Something made up to diss the feminist movement. Strong, independent women make knuckle-dragging, misogynistic men uncomfortable, so they feel the need to demonize them. That's what the term neo feminism is meant to do.

Don't be mad people are calling out the absurdity of a hijabi who advocates sahria law being one of the faces of the modern American feminist movement.
Be mad that the feminist movement allowed that to happen unironically in the first place.
And you guys wonder why only 1/5 of American women consider themselves "feminists" these days. Women are very smart indeed to reject the nonsense passing as third wave and "inter-sectional" feminism.
Feminism isn't about abortion or slapping a birth control patch on your arm. It's about standing on your own two feet, not expecting a man to GIVE YOU everything in life. It's about not being afraid to do something by yourself, like going down to the city to see fireworks by yourself or going to a concert by yourself, not always trying to be TAKEN CARE OF.
I know women who are bright, successful, educated women who have high-level professional positions in topnotch companies yet they have never even written out a check by themselves or paid a bill--their husbands manage all the money and makes all of the decisions. This isn't feminism to me.

Young women today have never experienced institutional and societal sexism the way their predecessors did, so they don't think of themselves as feminists, even as they are reaping the benefits of feminism. I tell my 30 something daughter that all the time--she is standing on the shoulders of the generations of women who came before her and made her ability to pursue whatever path she chooses possible.
And a whopping 82 percent of both genders believe men and women should be social, political, and economic equals, which is the very definition of feminism. So even if they don't label themselves as such, they are, indeed, feminists. And we have feminists to thank for that cultural shift.
And there's no such thing as a neo-feminist. It's a made up term invented by insecure men, designed to dis-empower strong women.

Sometimes one spouse is just better with finances so they take care of it all.
the point of the tweet is powerful to me. feminism isn't safe American women marching in safe america in ***** hats or muslim women like women's march wanna be linda sarsour. real feminists are represented by the brave woman in the tweet picture on the left protesting for freedom in iran. a woman who removed her hijab protesting the repressive muslim regime that until last week required she wear one. she was willing to die for that freedom, as so many protesters already have, protesting the mullahs and the repression of muslim women.
It sure is nice to see this in Iran and that Saudi Arabia is loosening restrictions on women. I'm glad the media isn't going gaga over it like they did the Arab Spring, but this is the TRUE Arab Spring if it keeps spreading.
