Great. Now YOU tell me what policies did Obama enact that specifically helped blacks?
As a construction worker I did very well during the Obama years. Maybe not everybody did, but I keep hearing about this narrative about how horrible things were during his terms, but I just didn't experience that.
I'm also doing well under Trump so far. Not rich or anything, just slowly moving up the economic ladder.
Do you believe Trump lowered the unemployment rate for black Americans or did Trump inherit a falling unemployment rate?
And from 2007 to 2009 the black unemployment rate steadily rose from 7.9 to 16.1. And while obama was in office the black unemployment rate fell from 16.1 to 7.9. https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000006
Will republicans give Obama credit for lowering the black unemployment rate from 16.1 to 7.9?
Or will republicans only give Trump credit for lowering the black unemployment rate by 1 point (when in 2016 the black unemployment rate also fell by 1 point) ??
It was 12.7 when obama took office and rose under his watch to 16.8 and only came back down to 7.8 his last partial month in office. Just trying to keep you honest.

The U.S. Labor Department reported Friday that the unemployment rate for African-Americans fell to 6.8 percent in December – the lowest rate since recordkeeping began in 1972. That’s an astounding drop from the 8.3 percent black unemployment rate in October 2016, just before Donald Trump was elected president."
"Hispanic unemployment was at a near-record low of 4.9 percent in December – down from 5.7 percent the month before the election of President Trump. Additionally, there were four months in 2017 in which the Hispanic seasonal unemployment fell below 5 percent – the only time that has occurred in a single year over the past 44 years."
It's funny seeing Trump supporters suddenly believing in BLS numbers when these same folks agreed with Candidate Trump when he said BLS stats are all fake, totally phony, and solely used to make politicians and presidential administrations look good. Have a look here, Trump's hypocrisy
Jobs are good, but are NOT EVERYTHING. Basic human dignity, respect and inclusion are also very important. It is the essence of obscene white privilege to make your statement.
Your defeatist post reminded me of your screen name. Embrace White people----we're not going anywhere!
We're in what you would derisively refer to as the 2%. We accomplished it via unremarkable jobs and smart investing.
That's where the rubber meets the road, and is all that really matters.
Plenty of MBAs and PHDs will struggle financially and retire with little.

Is there any evidence that this isn’t simply a continuation of the overall job growth that has taken place over the past nine years?
Any indication that this wouldn’t have occurred regardless of who was elected last year?
I think it is great news if true, but as usual, wonder why the numbers are considered accurate now when they weren’t before the 2016 election, particularly given how extreme are the drops.
I guess time will tell if they are true or if some finagling is going on.
