End the discussion. There is simply no reason so start this kind of thread. The responses are so predictable Japan is the most racist country on earth. blah blah

ww2 blah blah
I think Japan and Israel have a right to do immigration policy however they want. Just as Germany can bring in whoever they want. To make a prejudicial statement about Japan calling them racist is simply your prejudicial opinion.

I can't knock a country like Japan with very low crime and little issue with outside terrorists. And affluent. Seems like they are doing things the right way.

Well, Japan's population is declining - thanks to ageing population, low birth rates...so it's not all sweetness and light there either.

And what is the problem with a declining population? It seems to me countries with high birthrates and too many people are an issue.

None, except that the population is declining AND at the same time aging.
There should be more young than old people, no matter what the size of society. But that's not the case.
All successful countries will sooner or later suffer from that problem as population growth can't go on forever.

Declining population means more space and more wealth per person.

If you could't find a willing seller, you didn't offer the market price for the labor you desired.

We are making policy decisions in the present, not the past. Our interests NOW are what matter. This shouldn't need to be said.

It also means there are fewer people in the workforce (labor shortages) and fewer workers to support a larger, increasing number of retirees. You complete the dots...

Add Canada to the list. Canada may not speak it so colorfully, but they have standards for immigration. Contrast that to the U.S. policy, or other lack of policy. Prior to #45 taking the reigns.

From Feb. to Oct., officials granted asylum to 72 per cent of the 1,314 claims processed, but Haitians only had a 17 per cent acceptance rate.
