Newtovenice, it's becoming more and more difficult for me to give you the benefit of doubt in this exchange. I really do not want to believe that you are just looking for an excuse to be a jerk with impunity. It's really not that hard to be kind. If someone says, "Hey, I prefer to be called she," either comply with the person's request or move on. That's the way you avoid being accused of harassment. There is no ban on a particular pronoun. There is a law in California that protects transgender people from sustained and threatening behavior. This apparently remains difficult for you to accept, and I have no desire to continue discussing the matter in the face of your intransigence.

I'm tired of this. I am female. I was born this way. I have had thee feelings, these longings, all of my life. It is not unnatural. I am not sick because I feel this way. I do not need to be helped. I do not need to be cured. What I need, and what all of those who are like me need, is understanding and compassion. We have not injured you in any way. And yet, we are scorned and attacked. And all because we are different. What we do is no different from what you do. We talk and laugh. We complain about work and we wonder about growing old. We talk about our families, and we worry about the future. And we cry with those we are close to when things seem hopeless.

But it's wrong to teach children that boys can be girls and girls can be boys just because they feel like it today. It's wrong for little kids to be taught that it is NORMAL. What strikes me with this thread is was suppose to be about "gender fluidity" but quickly turned into a thread about "transgender". The two are not the same. It is my understanding that one whom claims to be "gender fluid" is one who does not consistently identify as a specific gender.
