Xi is no friend to the United States...our Obama weakened military needs to get it's s**t together fast.
Chinese people are great and their economy has so much potential still.
They're simply not as lucky as we are to have the system of government that we do.
Frankly, most of the world is run by monarchs, militarists, and despots. Even western Europe and the English-speaking countries don't have the freedoms that we do in terms of 2nd amendment, freedom of speech, etc. We are truly blessed.

I don't know where you are getting this information from, if your are stating your opinion as facts then you are deluding yourself.
Here is a list from cato institute on human freedom for 2017. It is a study of personal and economic freedom. The u.s. ranked 17, however in personal freedom it ranked 24. There are 23 countries with more personal freedom than the u.s. https://object.cato.org/sites/cato.o...om-index-2.pdf
Another thing you are not taking into account is that most dictatorships and monarchies have been built and supported by the u.s. There were dozens of brutal dictatorships supported militarily and economically by the u.s. in latinamerica, africa and asia. Now less so, but they are still good alllies with repressive monarchies in the middle east.
One more thing, democracy are freedom of speech are useful more as propaganda than practical use. Remember the reason for the iraq war? Security and democracy? Yea right! The only thing that matters to the west is MONEY! China is not seen as an enemy (at least not like russia, iran, nk) because despite all the difficulties they still welcome foreign companies. The others right out say 'away with your corporations and inhumane financial system with all the abstract gdp numbers, etc'. Now Those are the real threat to the west. (at least in the mind of those in power)
China like Russia have been culturally authoritarian. Such countries do not have the conditions for democracy and a representative government. Just deal with it folks.
I just read about what is going on in China, and our friend Chairman Xi is on his way to become "President for Life".
This moment is one in whcih the brilliance of our founders deeply amazes me once again, in creating a nearly full-proof system of rights and governance, including our Bill of Rights, electoral college, checks-and-balances, that could withstand nearly any tyranny. Thank God for Amendment 22, and the difficulties our founders put in the constitution to change it
James Madison wrote that the many checks and balances in the Constitution — the separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, for example — made it very unlikely that a tyrant could seize power. If a tyrant did, any tyrant, regardless of her or his advantages and even if the military were to remain loyal, would be far outnumbered by the unorganized militia of the United States, as private citizens are heavily armed with the sort of weapons well suited to military operations, and legally obligated by state laws to fight at the order of the governor.
Look to Xi Jinping and see where human nature will take individuals if given the opportunity. Our system is greater and more powerful than the political and power selfishness afforded in human nature. We cannot take any of our freedoms for granted, from freedom of speech to property rights to individual liberty and responsibility, and not to undermine any of these freedoms for short-term safety. There are many ways to achieve safety without undermine people's rights fought and died for. While with freedoms necessarily come short-term risks, I encourage all to look at the far more important big picture. Tyranny hides behind safety as justification. But as Ben Franklin said, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."...and certainly do not get the former.
Mr Madison and his crew could not prevent the American people from becoming that crazy "tyrant". Americans by the tens of millions lack the virtue, will and character to be successful under the ideals of these founders. Donald Trump didn't elect himself, and his successors, who will be far worse, will all be freely elected. Oprah comes to mind.
All it takes is some minor issue to light the tender in the nation, which is bone dry and the size of the Amazon at the point. You think the Arab spring was transformative? America's transformation will be larger. That arab mess started with a single shop keeper in a small out of nowhere country. So goes America.
Mr. XI is much too smart for America. He knows they won the long game, his task is how to rise without major war and internal strife.
