China dumped a gigantically massive environmental turd on the planet called the Asian Brown Cloud, and you believe they are taking the high road now? Lol, too much #resistTrump here.
Many Americans are biased and ignorant like this.
Last year, China had a huge campaign to close plants not meeting the environmental requirements. In my hometown back in China, hundreds of plants were forced to close and the workers even organized a protest because they had no job. Some business owners fought the officials and at least one died.
This winter, residents in northern provinces are not allowed to use coal for heating. Even schools are not exceptional.
Coal is dead. Suggest people read about the economic situation behind it Vs. other clean fuels for electricity esp natural gas. Trump is doing nothing more than pander to his uneducated base.
Yes, Coal is dirty and produces lots of CO2. But it’s not dead just yet; it’s still one of the most economical ways to generate electricity. Green Germany is actually adding coal capacity to replace their lost nuclear capacity. A whole slew of nuclear plants will be going offline worldwide in the next few decades. Until we have batteries big and cheap enough to store grid-scale electricity from wind and solar, we will still need to use coal and gas.

They even ran an oil tanker into the great barrier reef.
Now they have an oil tanker off their coast ready to explode.
The damage is done and they still can't seem to get out of their own way.
Although China still uses vast amounts of coal. The trend is waning.
"China is canceling plans to build more than 100 coal-fired power plants, seeking to rein in runaway, wasteful investment in the sector while moving the country away from one of the dirtiest forms of electricity generation, the government announced in a directive made public this week."
Not going to stop the vast number of new coal jobs in West Virginia or is it.
The Chinese have been constructing coal power plants with 1940s designs, they are dirty, inefficient and poisoning the land and air. Not only were their power plants built with outdated design specs, the coal in China is high in ash and sulfur.
They are starting to build cleaner power plants, but aside from coal, natural gas and nuclear, there are no green energy solutions to replace those sources of reliable, dependable energy

That is it in a nutshell. He tells coal miners coal will come back, but it is dead, or at least dying. Other countries are moving forward in technology (wind, solar, etc) and we are stuck in the 1800's, at least with the current administration.

But Trump supporters dismiss it all as a myth.
The coal industry will be around for a good long time.
