Identity politics is the only political weapon the Left has.
Asking them to make their case about anything without accusing their opposition of racisim, sexisim, homophobia, Islamaphobia, misogyny or a host of other "isms" is like asking them to cut off a limb.

Haiti has had a lot of bad luck, mostly due to its unfortunate location, prone to be hit be natural disasters on a regular basis.
and their overpopulation
and their non-existent sanitation system
and their chronic exposure to viral infections
and their educational system
and their French Colonial character whereby the rich neglected and exploited the poor
and their corrupt military and politicians
and their total and complete lack of responsible leadership.
I feel very bad for businesses who employ Haitian and Salvadoran professionals and skilled workers. They hired them legally, developed and invested in them for up to 10 years, and now, whoosh, all that money and succession planning down the drain. It costs 1.5x the annual salary of a worker to replace them, on average. Now they have to find new skilled employees in the tightest market in a decade.

And Haiti shares its landmass with The Dominican Republic and its not anywhere near as bad.
So there must be something about the Haitian people that is also off, it can't just be bad location. That's just an excuse.
In any event, all of that is irrelevant. There is no RATIONAL reason for us to import Haitians into our home.
