Nobody is under the illusion that this nation will become more civilized in this respect, but it is still the right position on the issue.
What if you like that person and agree with his or her political beliefs?

Lol. You think a person is capable of using 20 guns simultaneously?

Well, "This is 'Murica, ya know.....guns, God, and Ford pickup trucks !" You aren't a man (or sometimes woman) unless you are armed to the teeth with weapons that spew out hundreds of rounds at a time.

No one it trying to take away legitimate use rifles and pistols, but something needs to be done about machine guns in the hands of people who have no business owning one.

What does this have to do with NYC?
Several years ago the Washington Post ran an editorial calling for a complete ban on the civilian ownership of firearms. They have since backpedalled on the issue, probably because their subscription rate took a hit. Now every other week or so they run an editorial calling for "common sense gun control". But I'd bet they still favor a complete gun ban. And I'd bet that 90% of the people calling for "common sense gun control" would support a complete ban on civilian ownership of firearms.

LOL, so you cite an editiorial from years ago, where the author has already changed their stance?
Then you follow up with 90% of people who claim to just want common sense gun control are liars?

LOL. Thanks for proving my point.

New York City has had the Sullivan Act since 1911 in order to keep Blacks, and immigrants from having guns. Look it up.

Machine guns? Are you clueless? They are taxed, and heavily regulated, and EXPENSIVE. Show me when they are used in crime. Yeah Murica the only place left where we can resist a tyrannical government, and protect ourselves.

You don't get to interpret rights with your supercilious basis of a need having to be justified.

The Washington Post never retracted their call for a gun ban. And the fact that their current position is calling for "common sense gun control" does not mean they don't still favor a ban. They let the cat out of the bag calling for a ban and made it clear how they felt. I would be highly skeptical that they have actually changed their position.
