You couldn’t be any further from the point if you tried.
Not from insurance settlements, and not from personal injury settlements. It totally depends on how the NDA settlement was written.
But I'm sure Trump used the settlements for tax deductions--he is that cheap. The question is what kind of deductible did he categorize it as? He might have called it a 'business loss' but the IRS would question that on an real (as opposed to fake) audit. I imagine he was able to skirt the law as he always has, so it is 'barely legal.'
