Show me one, ONE (!) african country that comes close to Western development.

Both are examples of how white society manages oil resources to benefit the masses. Yes, to point out how superior Norway and Denmark manage their oil wealth compared to Nigeria and Venezuela is highly racist.

The problem with pointing out these nations as models to follow is that Scandinavian Americans live longer and are wealthier than Scandinavians.

It's got nothing to do with race! People love to proclaim this. It makes them feel righteous and they're hardly ever called on it. In reality though, a good case can be made that part of the reason why socialism works well in Scandinavia is the inherent traits of Scandinavian people.

Well, personally, IMO all this constant racist talk is a bunch of garbage. The real problem is that some CULTURES are plain non-functioning in this day and age. For example, ghetto culture/values/lifestyle is garbage culture. If someone wants to succeed in society, they need to make better/smarter choices and learn to speak Business English and stop talking in ebonic dialects like a slum dweller.

BTW are there any black or Hispanic majority countries out there that is worthy of global admiration and that the US should emulate?

Socialism - a political and economic theory of social organisation which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

A kibbutz would be an example of socialism, in terms of Denmark and Norway they have welfare states but most companies are private and they have a mixed economy rather than a socialist economy.

Mixed economy - Wikipedia

Socialism is much more than merely having universal healhcare and welfare benefits for the most disadvantaged in society, it is an economic and political system.

There is nothing socialist about those countries. They employ what is known as a European social democracy which has both strong private industry as well as solid social benefits for it's citizens. That is of course a very alien concept to Americans.

We have a social democracy.. in Norway and Scandinavia.

It basically works like this:

Citizens, you choose to either work for private corporations, in a free market, a worldwide market.
Or, the public sector to see that everything runs as smoothly as possible.

The government taxes individuals and corporations, profits on stocks and dividends, almost at the same rate, etc to give every citizen mostly "free" daycare, healthcare, medications, education and pensions.

You want to spend your discretionary money on "better or more" daycare, healthcare, education and pensions you are free to do so, in the private market.

By insuring, giving healthcare, education on a national level, we are able to keep costs down and quality up.

We choose this way of politics.. we in Scandinavia have voted for a Social Democracy or the "Nordic modell" for over 80 years and it has given us a standard of living better then nearly any other nation.

We are not communists, the way the common American often portray us.. we are just using our resources smart and efficiently, to give every citizen a better life.

Norway has a population of about 5.2 million people and is roughly the size of Montana.

Denmark has 5.6 million people and is roughly the size of Maryland.

Whether you're a republican or a democrat, why do people continue to compare the USA to tiny European countries?
