Deep state? This couple was from West Virginia. Before coming to California they also spent years in Texas. Is the Deep State in Appalachia?

Actually, they have a history in West Virginia. And it appears the mother's mother was the daughter of a West Virginia Reverend and the mother was 16 when she married the father. I'm curious if the mother really is the mother of the two year old. She's 49.
