Yup. I hold a MS in engineering myself. I worked hard. In grad school, 80%-90% of my classes were filled with aliens, the rest are US citizens. Like do people think BS degree and you're done? MS/PhD is the new way to get your foot in the door at the big corporations.
From the description it sound like most of these will actually be help center-type jobs, at least at the outset. From the press release:

The company plans to establish an Apple campus in a new location, which will initially house technical support for customers. The location of this new facility will be announced later in the year.
With that in mind, I predict it will go to Phoenix.
I'm happy that the corporate tax breaks are resulting in companies expanding in the US. Not a Trump supporter, but I am glad when more jobs are here and more corporate money. I hope the trend continues.
(Also, while the news is positive, I will wait until it happens to celebrate)
20,000 high tech jobs... of which very few Americans are qualified to do.
How many people do you think hold MS/PhD degrees in engineering/computer science? lol
Apple isn't just going to pick college grads, they find the cream of the crop. Like Intel does.
Do you really think that all 20,000 jobs will need MS/PhD's?
cite please??
I think there are plenty of qualified Americans. The problem is the corporations were spinning that crap to make an excuse to outsource to Asia. I should know I worked for a few that would spin that crap.

Either that, or you'll get the low wage-service jobs that people are complaining about. It takes hard work to earn a high salary especially at a well known corporation like Apple.
