If your in the healthcare industry, whether it be as a doctor, surgeon, paramedic or janitor you decided on your career. You are to help those in need of medical help, keep your religious beliefs to yourself and do your job period or find another career. The same should be said about working as a government employee, if your job is to issue marriage licenses do it and keep your beliefs to yourself

No, it's not.

And this pretty much sums things up:

"The issue is this emboldens people who want to be able to deny this care,” she said. “In the past, the duty to the patient has been the priority, and that’s what major medical groups say. This flips the script and makes it about the provider and that’s not really how we should be providing medical care,” said Diane Horvath-Copser, an obstetrician/gynecologist in Baltimore and a fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health."

Also has stated in another thread (mods shut down for their own reasons), this is not just about LGBT, but covers abortion, and other medical services including assisted suicide.

Exactly, the first time a straight, white Christian is turned away by a baker or pharmacist they will whine and cry like babies. IMO, if your religion demands that you act like a jerk and discriminate against other human beings, it is time to reevaluate why you are a member of such a hateful group pf people.

The number of conservatives that are comfortable with their religion and their Messiah being used as tools of persecution and hatred is a sad and pathetic spectacle to witness. If refusing medical treatment for gays is what it takes to be a Christian, eff them and their book of fairy tales.

EXACTLY. The law is the the law. This is a blatant attempt to legitimize discrimination. People need to do their jobs and keep religion out of healthcare. This administration is catering to the far fringe right. Even with the current Supreme Court justices, I would love to see this go before them.

Discrimination is a fundamental requriement of life. It's how our immune systems keep us alive. It doesn't need to be "legitimized".

The linked article is really vague, but it seems that this is about people who don't need medical help, like people doing "sex reassignment" surgery and stuff like that.
