The real irony in this story is that Trump has been an abusive partner on many levels and never really had to pay the price for his treatment of women...
His first wife accused him of physical assault and marital rape during their marriage because she laughed when he had had hair plug surgery and he assaulted her to stop her laughing...
She retracted that during divorce proceeding apparently because she was afraid of losing her children and monetary support...
There have been plenty of other women who have had to deal with this creep's unwanted attentions
So the idea that he is finally being called on the carpet very effectively by a porn star who actually had consensual sex with him is really almost absurd in its irony...
Plus the fact that Trump has profited from his courting of the media in various way all his adult life, including his time in the spotlight with "The Apprentice"...and been usually able to spin his image during that time in a positive way and use it to power his "empire" based on the exclusive nature of his lifestyle...
He is just a poser...who has created an image that the public bought into and didn't challenge with any real desire or success...
Indeed. So many levels of irony in this saga...
Trump is obsesssed with image. The years he spent cultivating this image of success, courting drama to raise his profile, and lashing out without filter on social media have made this man what he is today. Perhaps it is fitting that he should drown in the drama-filled hype he has created for himself. For a man so well-known (and beloved in some circles) for his unfiltered outbursts of rage and theatrics, Trump’s silence in this matter is a sober reminder that Stormy Daniels et al. shall be his legacy above all else. To quote Trump himself, “SAD.”
you're probably correct. i severely doubt that trump would be charged with that crime. but...... i think there's the distinct possibility that avenatti will use this fact to invalidate "EC LLC". it's illegal to form a company in delaware with the purpose of covering a crime ( no matter how obscure ).
cohen is currently gambling on the judge agreeing that the settlement agreement exists solely between daniels and EC LLC ( which i don't think is possible since the contract includes actions that only trump could agree to ). if EC LLC was illegally formed than i doubt the settlement agreement can hold up.
And BAM. He throws Cohen under the bus, and makes it even harder to have the settlement agreement be valid.
If he has no knowledge of it, that means he was unaware of it, and the agreement is invalid as it was not made between the two parties. Look for Stormy to reveal even more, and for Cohen to be disbarred, and possibly facing federal charges.
If Trump didn't know about the payment, Cohen is guilty of violating campaign finance laws and will probably be disbarred and possibly jailed. The real question is, "Would Trump throw his friend and attorney under the nearest conveyance to save his keister?"
