I didn't like Obama, so was aware of everything negative the Repubs put out there about him....and believe me, they put their share of stuff out there, and I believed it, but he was never impeached....

Agreed. We should judge public-figures based on the quality of the job that they're doing in office, and not on their personal lives, however tawdry or odious those personal lives may be.
But... if we have a president who is brazenly traducing the norms of office - of the professional (not personal) parts thereof - then we have a problem.
I predict Trump will cut a deal and resign if his family members are at risk of conviction of a crime. For all practical purposes a sitting president cannot be tried even for criminal activity (although perhaps charges could be filed and trial postponed). No such protection exists for others in his circle.
One reason why D Trump is said by some not a target in the Cohen matter is that his family members may be.
