Congress needs to do their job and stop kicking the can down the road - like has been done for 25 years or more. Border security and no new TPS = fewer new migrants and the less of these endless discussions on immigrants (in our immigrant nation).

Your poll has been debunked by other posters in here. DACA should not be used as a bargaining tool to get border security and the other immigration changes that are necessary that Trump is asking for.

Well, we need to get the Democrats and Republicans in Congress to come together and resolve this "dreamer" issue. That won't happen if our only action is to try to summarily deport millions of people.

We could have upwards of two million or more of these "dreamers," and millions more heavily sympathetic to their plight. These "dreamers" and their supporters, see themselves as the innocent victims here, and law abiding citizens. Even though they know their parents brought them here, they will not take out their anger or frustration out on their parents.

If we choose to be harsh with these people, by suddenly deciding to start enforcing our immigration laws, and attempt to deport millions of people, they will find justification for their anger and/or violence. That's millions of potentially angry people, and those sympathetic to them, committing violence in the streets.

The reality is, as much as I don't like it, our government created this mess, and we have to bite the bullet on this one. With the caveat, that we solve this with new laws and solutions, so we never repeat it again.

Yes, our government created this mess and we law abiding Americans aren't going to pay for it so no, we aren't going to bite the bullet. They owe us not them. If we remove all of the incentives for them to remain here many if not most will self-deport. Let them commit violence in the streets our LE can handle it. Building the wall will deter most future illegal entry. No bargaining with DACA, period! There are so many ramifications of allowing them to remain here that people like you have not thought through at all that will negatively effect the future of our country.

I would settle for the DACA for only the 800,000 (NOT the 3 million or more!) and, in exchange, we'd deport all the Democrat members of Congress and loads of the Republican members, we'd deport pretty much all of the officials (state and local) in the state of California, we deport the other sanctuary city and state "leaders", we'd deport the greedy millionaires and billionaires pushing for open border so they can get rich off of cheap labor at their country's expense, and we'd deport the news media.

And we'd have a policy that we'd shoot any of them if they ever came back.

Chuckles surrendered.

Freeze on immigration for five years so our immigration excesses will calm down. No citizenship ever to anyone in this country illegally whether they came on their own or were brought by parents. They should be blaming their parents, not us. Time to protect our citizens and stop worrying about cheaters and their children. They should learn that crime does not pay. The American taxpayer needs a rest. We have been taken advantage of long enough. Our turn!

Give the left DACA with no path to citizenship and give them the visa lottery. In return, a total end to chain migration and appropriations for the wall and border security.

Seeing how wrong the polls were is the best thing that came out of this mess. Considering how the news people spin things, I think without social media this shutdown would have ended differently. It is clear Americans don't want these people to get special treatment on immigration. They just shot themselves in the foot. Time to put them in their place for good.
