A marine was arrested for shooting back at an armed home intruder, faces life in prison
Nelson’s family says the young Marine was shot in the hip before calling 911 and telling everyone to get downstairs. Joey Nelson fired back at Wilson who they say took off as police arrived. Although Joey Nelson is charged with several felonies, Michael Wilson is only charged with carrying a concealed weapon. “This man out here in the front yard fired multiple shots into a house with multiple people inside and a 3-week-old baby simple and he’s (only) charged with concealing a weapon illegally?” asked Steve Nelson.
He was shot in the hip before calling 911 in HIS OWN HOUSE, what do you think happened?
The Gateway Pundit is quoting Nelson's father, no word from the police but they only charged Wilson with possession of a concealed weapon. They did not charge him with discharging his gun. The story as portrayed doesn't make sense if you believe that Wilson shot him and fired his gun into the house. Why didn't police only charge him for carrying.

A lot of contradictory information in all those rightwing nutjob articles, but what it sounds like is the guy came to the door and started pounding on it, and the Marine thought he'd play the hero and go outside to confront him with a weapon. Guy outside apparently drew his own weapon, shots were fired, Marine was hit. Marine is charged because he escalated the conflict by going outside with a drawn handgun and threatening Door Banging Man.
Not sure who fired first, but I suspect it was John Wayne Junior, because of the way the charges were laid. If that's the case, then yeah - this sounds like it's pretty much the way it ought to be at this point.
If he (the Marine) never fired his gun, then why the charges? Do you listen to yourself sometimes?
Like I posted earlier,
The man was shot in his own house
it's straight up self defense. MLC 750.951 and 780.972 are ruling on the matter. If the story is true, the district attorney is abusing process and filing a false prosecution. Unfortunately the ABA and its members have whittled away the protections that the people once had so they can exercise a monopoly on justice.
Or, he fired in self-defense when the Marine Corps came storming out the door with guns blazing.
