Not sure where the "Not my business what you do" answer was but I put I think that sex robots will soon generate a flurry of debates and will have major social impact.

Basically it will be interesting to see lower tier males not even bother seeking real female attention. The question is to what degree. Since high tier males get the vast majority of attention, will it even matter?

I give it a year until the Democrats want to give them citizenship and the right to vote.

Right now the problem is price. High end sex robots are upwards of $15,000. But just wait till they're available for monthly lease (yeah, I know, the ick factor of a pre-owned sex doll).

Since robots are almost certainly going to be wildly expensive for at least the first decade, my guess is that people who have money to invest will buy fleets of robots and rent them out.

But I guess I'm already late to this party. Apparently there is already at least one brothel full of sex dolls. Of course these are just dolls, not robots, but it's easy to see where things are headed.

This was posted in the "Sexy Robots" thread in the Science and Tech forum:

There's already a brothel in Germany with only sex dolls, no real women or men.
Like I said in a different thread, we're living in the future.. too bad it's a dystopian future
I'm not sure about dystopian - at least not necessarily dystopian. I think there are plenty of potential benefits. But it is hard to tell what the overall impact will be. I suspect that the social impact of the sexuality aspect of robots will be a mere drop in the bucket compared to the overall impact of robots, just in general.

Why not, people are already turning into zombies, might as well have sex with a robot.

Whatever people want to do with themselves or other consenting adults is none of my business.

Probably create a whole lot less social issues than engaging in prostitution and the non-consent that is rife in that industry.

Agree, but personally the entire concept is creepy to me. Even if they looked, and acted lifelike, similar to the Stepford Wives. Still CREEPY! In fact Artificial Intelligence is getting creepy to me, but maybe I have just watched too many Terminator movies.

Robot prostitutes coming soon to a bedroom near you
Sounds weird, but why do you call them 'prostitutes' when people buy them to own? They are sex toys.
