Just 42 people own the same amount of wealth as the poorest 50 percent worldwide, a new study by global charity Oxfam claimed.
Quote:
Mark Goldring, chief executive of Oxfam GB, said the statistics signal "something is very wrong with the global economy."
"The concentration of extreme wealth at the top is not a sign of a thriving economy but a symptom of a system that is failing the millions of hard-working people on poverty wages who make our clothes and grow our food," he added.

Thats garbage headline that only serves to stoke division. Nobody is "getting" the wealth, as if its selectively handed out for free without effort.

Monopolized money system by the Banking Families backed by the brute force of the world's governments.

Hey, what could go wrong?

Yeah but if you redistributed all the world's wealth evenly everyone would still be poor.

If I make $15.00 an hour, that in no way prevents you from also making $15.00/hr ....or more.

That concept doesn't change because the numbers get bigger.

There is no "X" amount of wealth for anyone to hoard even if they wanted to.

Let's test that theory, shall we?

Nobody claims that theft, and manipulation of current financial systems doesn't require work.

Humanity is not sustainable with that kind of wealth disparity, and it is only going to continue to get worse.

The supply of people at the very bottom is growing due to their inability to close their legs, and their clinging to stupid religious beliefs.

There is no end in sight to this problem, which is not our problem. And if you want to make it our problem to provide for them, then they'll have to consider and accept some pretty harsh solutions that encompass a bit more than "here we'll redistribute what we have."

Wealth disparity in a society doesn't mean that much so long as everyone has their basic needs taken care of.

When it comes to "world," disparity... again... the third world needs to stop popping kids out like its 1850 again. It is not our responsibility to take care of other people's kids. The governments in these depressed areas of the world need to step up and get their act together for the future of THEIR people. The rest of "Humanity" (the part that doesn't breed like rabbits) will do just fine.

Technology and legislation and corruption seem to be driving it. In the US the biggest problem is that billionaires like the Koch family are writing our policies. Just look how Koch's caucus is distorting congress.
