College of Criminal Justice in New York City featuring various artworks by current and former Guantanamo Bay detainees
Some 9/11 families who lost family are disgusted. College in New York City is catching flack after hosting an art exhibit that features artwork by Guantánamo Bay prisoners. Some asking “Where’s their decency? Where’s their dignity? "
What were they convicted of? This is the United States...we don’t deal in “deems.” We deal in evidence, exculpatory or incriminatory. The constitution doesn’t mention anything about a right to violate habeas corpus based on “deeming.”
Removing the enemy from the battlefield doesn't require convictions as long as the war hasn't ended.
That's what being a POW is all about.
What “battlefield?” Half of these guys were yanked out of houses based on halfass information and accusations. Their detention has little to nothing to do with a battlefield. These aren’t POW’s. For one, no War was declared and two, POW is a distinction used for actual combatants in war...not some made up foolishness about a War on Terror! LOL...get the hell outta here!
“War hasn’t ended.” Yeah, it has, and YOUR side lost. That’s why we’re meandering around Iraq and Afghanistan accomplishing absolutely nothing.
