Florida is only 1 of 4 states that still won't restore voting rights after a ex-felon has served thier time and has to wait years and appeal to a clemency board to restore that right.
Isn't there a clause in the Constitution about "Cruel and Unusual Punishment"?
Somehow this is relatable.
You know me. I'm pretty damn conservative. But I have to agree here, with doing your time you paid your debt to society and once back out into society you get all your rights back, including the right to vote.
How else can you then participate in getting the law that placed you in jail, removed if it is a bad law.
As they say, you want to change a bad law? Keep enforcing it.
