It might be a good business move but it’s a political disaster. If he gives amnesty to millions of illegals he’s toast. He would lose to Dennis Kusinch.

The danger I think many Trump supporters have never considered is the possibility of Trump signing bills a Democratic-controlled Congress puts in front of him.

Trump is from New York City and has spent most of his life in one of the most liberal places in the world. He was a self-avowed pro-choice, Manhattan Democrat not that long ago. He also has no real convictions. He also likes getting "wins."

I could see a scenario where Democrats control Congress and Trump just wants to sign his name on something. Pelosi and Schumer say to him, "Mr. President, if you give amnesty to all of America's undocumented workers, people will forget about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. In fact, they'll probably rename the nation's capital 'Trump, DC.'" Trump will eagerly sign the bill so long as lots of people sing his praises and give him credit for it.

I'd say there's about a 75% chance of this happening should Democrats retake control of Congress. Republicans will learn that Trump is not on their side; he's on his side.

So U.S., citizenship is up for sale and at a VERY, VERY CHEAP price.
Only $13,900.00 per head if all 1.8 million illegals chip in.

Not a bad deal at all.

Anyone who knows his history knows this already. He's not a conservative. There's nothing shocking or even surprising in what you stated.

Sounds like a good compromise to me. I support it.

This is the best part, in my opinion:
"President Trump's plan would also include a massive cut in family-based immigration and the end to a diversity visa lottery system that gives preference to immigrants from under-represented countries"

I don't think so at all. The far right won't like it, everyone else will, including most democrats and Hispanics in general. It's hardly political suicide. He's going to appear to be a deal maker and moderate, something most Americans like. He's not giving amnesty to millions of illegals. He's giving amnesty to DACAs or people eligible for DACA. Most Americans agree with that. Not many people other than the far right want "kids" brought here by their parents kicked out. Those kids are now adults and for the most part leading productive lives working, paying taxes, going into the military or going to school.

the far right are more likely to accept a moderates compromise than the far left

Are you trying to deny that Obama lied concerning his promise to address this within his first year?

"I cannot guarantee that it is going to be in the first 100 days. But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I'm promoting. And I want to move that forward as quickly as possible."
